How do Forces of Nature & Environment

Impact our Local Habitats?

Written By Angel

My name is Angel and I am a second grader at HTe North County. My class went to clean up Carlsbad Beach and noticed lots of trash! We decided to create a project about our dilemma. The essential question for our project was, "How do forces of nature and environment our local habitats?" We learned how trash and pollution impact the animals that live in our local habitats.

Please read my research below to learn more about our project and how you can help protect our local habitats.

The Adventures of A Jellyfish

One day a jellyfish was eating an anemone and the anemone turned into jelly. Normally the jellyfish liked to eat plankton and krill but today was a special day. All of a sudden the jellyfish got caught by a fisherman! Oh no!

The fisherman put the jellyfish into water that was not salt water. It was fresh water so he might die. He was also hungry. Oh no! The fisherman put him in a fishbowl. There were lots of other fish in the fish bowl. Jellyfish like to travel and live in big oceans so the small fish bowl was too small. The jellyfish wanted to go back home. The fisherman tried to go to a museum to sell the jellyfish. He wanted to have lots of money. The fisherman dropped the fishbowl on accident on the street. All of the fish were dropped out of the bowl and luckily there was a storm drain!     The fish returned back to their home in the ocean. The fish learned that they should not wander off. They also look out for fishermen and try to stay safe.

Special thanks to:

The parents of 2nd Grade HTe and

There were more fish than invertebrates caught in fishing lines. There were 45 birds caught in fishing lines.
