The Lost Baby Beluga Whale

Once upon a time there were two beluga whales looking for food. One beluga whale is a mom and the other one is a baby and they lived in the Pacific Ocean. Beluga whales like to eat fish and they like to swim. The beluga family was swimming to find more fish. Suddenly a pirate ship sailed by and dumped trash because the ship stopped and the trash, like cans, bottles, bags and paper flew into the Pacific Ocean .

When the beluga whales saw the trash they got scared and the baby beluga whale swam away but the mother swam the other direction. The mom beluga stopped when she was far away. That's when she realized the baby wasn't with her.

After mom was sad and lost. Mom used echolocation to find her baby. She sent an echo and it echos back. Then the mom had a great idea one hour later and it was that she could call her family and they looked and looked and they found the baby and they lived happily ever after.

How do Forces of Nature & Environment

Impact our Local Habitats?

Written By Emily

My name is Emily and I am a second grader at HTe North County. My class went to clean up Carlsbad Beach and noticed lots of trash! We decided to create a project about our dilemma. The essential question for our project was, "How do forces of nature and environment our local habitats?" We learned how trash and pollution impact the animals that live in our local habitats.

Please read my research below to learn more about our project and how you can help protect our local habitats.
