How do Forces of Nature & Environment
Impact our Local Habitats?
Written By Jessica
My name is Jessica and I am a second grader at HTe North County. My class went to clean up Carlsbad Beach and noticed lots of trash! We decided to create a project about our dilemma. The essential question for our project was, "How do forces of nature and environment our local habitats?" We learned how trash and pollution impact the animals that live in our local habitats.
Please read my research below to learn more about our project and how you can help protect our local habitats.
Special thanks to:
The parents of 2nd Grade HTe and
The most trash we collected at Carlsbad Frazee beach was sixteen cans. There was one more balloon than sandal, there were two balloons and one sandal. Toys and lighters had a tie of three. Plastic has two more than glass bottles.

Sydney Learns to Swim
Once upon a time there was a mother humpback whale named Amelia. She had four kids. One was named Roscoe,he was a baby. The next was Sydnee she was six,the next was named Jordan she was eleven. The last was Jessica she was fifteen. And there was also dad of course. Then Jordan said “Can I wake up Jessie and ask her to take me to Phoenix’s house””NO! and I HEARD! that but I can drop you off on my way to Shemsys but first I need to study”said Jessica.”Fine ms. brainy face” said Jordan “If I’m ms. brainy face your a rotten octopus egg”said Jessica. Then Jordan blurted out”and Sydnee can have some swim lessons while we play””sense she doesn't know how to swim”teased Jessica as she swam up the stairs to study.
When she got to her room she pulled a sheet of paper and read them to her self:1.baby 1 ton [+] 2.adult 30-48 tons 3.baby 13 feet and 5 inches 4.adult 42-54 feet 6. lifespan (50+) 7.food:small fish and krill. Then she added 8. mate every 2-3 years.
She went downstairs and took Jordan outside to go see Phoenix and Shemsy. On their way there, they saw a huge pile of trash above their heads. Then Jordan said, “It’s the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.” They saw a turtle swimming towards it and they both cried “Oh no!” at the same time. And Jessica saved the turtle and Sydney learned to swim.
